Come Together: A Benefit for Mark Buell and Nickel City Frets
Sportsmens Tavern, 326 Amherst Street, Buffalo, NY
Hosted by Davey O. - this event is $5 admission On the morning of November 15th, Nickel City Frets owner Mark Buell was woken by the smell of smoke in his apartment above the venue. He was able to gather his cat Rhino, and his vintage Martin guitar and escape the fire, but the fire eventually burned through the roof, and in the process of putting out the fire, water damage to the venue was inevitable. Due to the fire, Mark is not only without a home, but he is also without a facility to teach music lessons, and host concert events. Shortly after hearing the news, local songwriter Davey O., (who hosts his "Nickel City Sessions" songwriters series at the venue), reached out to several area musicians to put together a benefit for Mark and the venue at time when the loss from this fire adds on to the fact that Mark is also battling cancer. Please join a stellar lineup of local musicians as they "come together" as a community to support one of their own. Note: Alison plays first - there are MANY musicians - 10 minutes each so don't blink or you'll miss the set!
